How to become a City of London supplier

CapitalEsourcing Portal

The City of London Corporation uses a procurement portal called capitalEsourcing for all new tender opportunities. All suppliers interested in working with the City of London should register on capitalEsourcing.

When you log onto the site, click the register button, and accept the user agreement. Then fill in your organisation details on the resulting screen.

Please also see our useful links for contract opportunities page if you are interested in information about other public and private sector business opportunities.

EU tenders

The City of London, in common with other public sector organisations and Government departments, must meet the requirements of EU public procurement directives which ensure open and fair competition. Under these directives, contracts with a total value over the EU thresholds for supplies and services or for works are being advertised in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). These adverts enable you to express an interest in the majority of our high value contracts. In addition, contracts may also be advertised in the local press or specific trade publications.

OJEU is issued daily. To subscribe, visit Tenders Electronic Daily the online version of the supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. This website lists all the tender opportunities for public sector services, goods and works above the EU threshold.

Opportunities to supply London councils are available through the London Contracts and Supplies Group (LCSG).

Market engagement

The City of London regularly undertakes soft market testing exercises with suppliers. This involves liaising with suppliers to establish the best way of running any future procurement projects as well as assessing the current market. Soft market testing requires active engagement with suppliers both through questionnaires and face-to-face meetings.

Suppliers should, however, note that they will not be prejudiced by failure to respond to the soft market testing exercise. Also, a response to testing exercises does not guarantee any invitation to participate in any future tenders.

Future soft market testing exercises will be listed here.

City of London Corporation Hazardous Waste Collection Services

The City of London is seeking input from the market to establish the most effective way of undertaking hazardous waste collection services (102KB) within the Square Mile and other London Boroughs. This soft market testing exercise will help inform the City Corporation's understanding of current market innovations in hazardous waste collection.
