The development at 1 and 2 New Ludgate involved the construction of two new buildings on a large island site opposite the Old Bailey. The buildings are separated by a public square, and provide approximately 346 000 square feet of office accommodation and 32 000 square feet of retail accommodation. The development incorporates a range of sustainable features including renewable energy sources and energy efficient plant, as well as terraces at various levels with extensive views over the City and towards St Paul’s Cathedral.

Our role

Throughout each stage of the project from its inception in 2011 to its completion, we have utilised our extensive knowledge and experience to assist the project team in meeting the requirements of the Building Regulations, whilst also fulfilling the project brief. Regular site inspections were carried out to ensure that the works were completed to a high standard and to ensure that any complex issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. Our flexible approach has furthermore facilitated the development of striking designs for each building, which still maintain high standards of safety and energy efficiency. We have also utilised our knowledge of the base build to provide guidance on the fit outs of various floors.
