A landmark development in the City of London, 20 Fenchurch Street or the 'Walkie Talkie' as it is commonly referred to. It is a BS 9999 fire engineered commercial building that has a striking curved design and complex geometry which stands out as one of our most prestigious projects. The 38 storey mixed commercial and retail premises offers prime office space which due to its unconventional shape, has larger floor areas on the uppermost storeys.

It is also unique as it contains London's tallest park. The public skygarden on the top most floors includes a public viewing gallery and restaurants giving panoramic views of London.

Our role

Since its inception in 2006 we have assisted the project team using our many years of experience dealing with complex fire engineered projects. We undertook regular site inspections to ensure high quality work and closely liaised with the design team to ensure any complex issues were resolved quickly. Our proactive and flexible approach has allowed the designers to produce a striking and unusual building that is safe, energy efficient and accessible without necessarily following a prescriptive approach. We have used our knowledge of the base build to assist with Category A and Category B fit outs on a number of floors.

If you are considering taking office space at 20 Fenchurch Street we would be pleased to help you with any Building Regulation queries you may have and offer free pre-application advice. Please call 020 7332 1000 or email the District Surveyor's Office
