Our role

Throughout each stage of the project from its inception in 2013 to its completion, we have utilised our extensive knowledge and experience to assist the project team in meeting the requirements of the Building Regulations, whilst also fulfilling the project brief. Regular site inspections were carried out to check that the works were completed to a high standard and to ensure that any complex issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. Our flexible approach has furthermore facilitated the development of striking designs for the building, which still maintains high standards of safety and energy efficiency. We have also utilised our knowledge of the base build to provide guidance on the fit outs of various floors.

Particular complexities included the fire engineering and mechanical and electrical aspects. The building is a single staircase building which involved various fire-engineered proposals and consequently, we worked closely with the fire engineer and the Fire Brigade to ensure a satisfactory solution was achieved. Our dedicated multi-disciplined local team within the City ensured building control work was completed promptly and without unnecessary delay.

If you are considering taking office space at The Monument Building, we are happy to assist you with any Building Regulation queries you may have and offer free pre-application advice, please call 020 7332 1000 or email the District Surveyor's Office.
